Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Lubdub ("we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Lubdub mobile application, our website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Please also review our Privacy Policy and Child safety & CSAE standards, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. Lubdub is an adults-only dating service and is not directed at anyone under 18.
  • Lubdub is designed for verified medical professionals and medical students. We may ask you to submit an ID card, selfie, or other proof of affiliation, and we may decline or remove accounts that fail verification or misrepresent their status.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and you must not be barred from using the Service under applicable law.
  • You may not create an account if you have been previously banned or removed from Lubdub for violating these Terms, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

3. Your account

You agree to provide accurate, current information when you register and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials and any verification codes confidential. Notify us immediately at lubdubdating@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You may delete your account and associated data at any time. See Account and data deletion.

4. The Service is currently free

Lubdub does not currently charge for access to the app or its core features. If we introduce paid subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid events in the future, we will update these Terms and clearly disclose pricing, billing, and cancellation terms before you are charged.

5. Community standards and prohibited conduct

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

  • Impersonate any person, misrepresent your identity, age, or medical affiliation, or create an account on behalf of someone else without permission;
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, defraud, or abuse other users, or post content that is hateful, discriminatory, sexually exploitative, or otherwise unlawful;
  • Post or send content involving minors in any sexual or exploitative context; we have zero tolerance for this and will report it to law enforcement and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or equivalent authorities, as described in our Child safety & CSAE standards;
  • Solicit money, gifts, cryptocurrency, or financial information from other users, or use the Service for commercial solicitation, advertising, or spam;
  • Upload content you do not have the rights to share, or that infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy;
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, decompile, or use automated tools (including bots) to access or extract data from the Service, except as permitted by applicable law;
  • Circumvent verification, moderation, blocking, or safety features, or attempt to access another user's account without authorization;
  • Introduce malware, interfere with the Service's operation, or probe, scan, or test its security without our prior written permission.

We may investigate and take action against violations, including content removal, warnings, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination, at our discretion and without prior notice where warranted (for example, safety risks).

6. Blocking, reporting, and moderation

The Service includes tools to block and report other users and content that violates these Terms. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts found to violate our standards. We do not pre-screen all content and are not responsible for content posted by users, but we act on reports and may proactively remove content that violates these Terms.

7. Your content and license to us

You retain ownership of the photos, profile information, messages, and other content you submit ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Lubdub a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service (for example, showing your profile to other users, or reviewing content you report or that is reported against you). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where copies are retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you submit and that it does not violate these Terms or any third party's rights.

8. Dating and meeting other users — safety

Lubdub helps you discover and connect with other verified medical professionals, but we do not conduct comprehensive background checks and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of any user, even where profile verification has occurred. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and offline.

If you choose to meet another user in person, do so at your own risk. We recommend meeting in a public place, telling a friend or family member your plans, and not sharing sensitive financial or personal information with people you have not met in person. Report any suspicious, abusive, or unsafe behaviour using the in-app report feature or by emailing lubdubdating@gmail.com.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the Lubdub name and marks, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service as intended, we grant you no other rights, and you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

10. Third-party services

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites, payment processors, or services that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or for operational or legal reasons (for example, discontinuing the Service). You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time as described in Account and data deletion.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7–9 and 12–16) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY USER CONTENT OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, ON OR OFF THE SERVICE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUBDUB AND ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) INR 1,000.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Lubdub and its founders, employees, and partners harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory local consumer protection law in your place of residence requires otherwise. Subject to any rights you cannot waive under your local law, you agree that the courts located in India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.

We encourage you to first contact us at lubdubdating@gmail.com so we can try to resolve any dispute informally before pursuing formal proceedings.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate (for example, an in-app message or email). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where your explicit consent is required by law.

17. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Child safety & CSAE standards, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lubdub regarding the Service.
